3-Day workshop
Working With Transparent Watercolor And Designing With Negative Space
– Geared towards Beginning through Intermediate experience levels
– Designed to accommodate both new and returning artists
Two Sessions
– Session 1: March 8, 9,10 (Fri, Sat, Sun)

– Session 2: March 11, 12, 13 (Mon,Tue,Wed)
(Session 2 still has space available)
Location: Hinckley Reservation Metro Park
– 30 minutes south of Cleveland-Hopkins Airport
– 15 minutes from local hotels and restaurants
– Dedicated parking area with easy building access
– Spacious work area
– Kitchen with refrigerator available
Workshop Content
Through demonstration, skills exercises, and quarter sheet paintings, working with transparent watercolor and the concept of designing with negative space will be explored. There will be a focus on developing sound fundamental skills relating to the technical aspects of transparent watercolor as far as equipment, materials, and application. Also, what is negative space? How can you use it to improve your paintings? What role do edges and value contrast play.
Returning artists will further explore the application of these concepts in their work.

Time: 9:30 – 4:30 (building opens at 9:00 AM)
Morning start: Coffee, tea, water and bakery items provided
Lunch: 1- hour break 12:30 – 1:30 PM ( Bring your own or order boxed lunch)
Note: We will be ordering boxed lunches from “Honey Baked Ham”. They have a variety of sandwich choices as well as salad available. The cost, which includes Sandwich, chips, cookie or a salad is $9 per boxed lunch, $27 for three days.
